TikTok no-watermark download API
TikTok publishes a rendition of every video without the platform overlay, and that is the one you receive. There is no watermark parameter and no second request — the call is the same GET as for any other platform, and the video entry carries watermark: false so you can assert it. The background track comes as a separate audio entry when the source publishes it.
Example request
curl -s "https://api.saveapi.org/v1/tiktok" \ -H "Authorization: Bearer sk_live_xxxx" \ -G --data-urlencode "url=https://www.tiktok.com/@user/video/123"
1.5 credits
Accepted link shapes
tiktok.com/@user/video/<id>, plus the vm.tiktok.com and vt.tiktok.com short links that the app's share sheet produces. Short links are followed for you.
What comes back
type is "video", medias[] holds the clean rendition with watermark: false and, when the source publishes it, an "audio" entry with the background track. The overlay is not removed by processing — the platform publishes the file without it, which is why the quality is the original encode.
What watermark-free does not mean
It means no platform overlay in the file. It does not grant any right to republish: the creator's rights and TikTok's terms still apply to what you do with the video. Build for saving, archiving and reposting with permission.
Questions before you build
- Is the quality lower without the watermark?
- No. Nothing is re-encoded; the source publishes a clean rendition and that is what you receive.
- Do vm.tiktok.com links work?
- Yes, both vm and vt short links are followed to the video.
- Is the background track included?
- When the source publishes it, yes — as a separate "audio" entry in medias[], not embedded in the video.
