TikTok photo slideshow download API — images and the background track
A TikTok photo post has no video at all. The response reflects that: one image entry per slide, in order, and a separate audio entry for the background track when there is one. Code that reaches for medias[0] and calls it a video will fail on these — branch on type and the same handler covers slideshows and videos.
Example request
curl -s "https://api.saveapi.org/v1/tiktok" \ -H "Authorization: Bearer sk_live_xxxx" \ -G --data-urlencode "url=https://www.tiktok.com/@user/photo/123"
1.5 credits
Accepted link shapes
tiktok.com/@user/photo/<id>, and the same vm/vt short links — a short link that lands on a photo post resolves as one. You do not have to tell the endpoint it is a slideshow.
What comes back
type is "album", medias[] has one "image" entry per slide in order, and an "audio" entry for the background track when the source publishes it. There is no video entry; a bot that only knows how to send a video has to branch here.
Sending it on
A Telegram bot sends the images as an album and the track as audio; a feed shows the images as a gallery. Fetch the files when you resolve them — the CDN links are signed and expire within hours.
Questions before you build
- Why is there no video in the response?
- Because the post has none. A slideshow is images plus a track; the response mirrors the post.
- Are the images watermark-free?
- The image files come from the source as published, without a burned-in overlay.
- How many images can a slideshow have?
- As many as the post holds — every slide is returned as its own entry, in order.
