Twitch Clip & VOD Downloader API
A Twitch clip link resolves to the clip's own CDN files: an H.264 MP4 at every quality Twitch stores (usually 1080p, 720p, 480p and 360p), each with its exact size read from the CDN, all in one response. A VOD (twitch.tv/videos/…) is different because Twitch publishes it as HLS only: the response still lists every rendition with its size, but each url is ours — the segments are remuxed into an MP4 on the fly and streamed through our server, never re-encoded and never written to disk. The source m3u8 is included as hls if you would rather feed a player directly. Live channel links are refused with a 404 that costs 0.1 credits; subscriber-only VODs come back as PRIVATE_CONTENT.
Links we accept
Any public post URL on these hosts. Short links and country mirrors are resolved for you.

Every quality the source already publishes comes back in the same response — each with a ready URL and its exact size. Pick the one you want client-side: there is no second call and no format parameter.
Questions before you build
- Do clips and VODs cost the same?
- No. A clip is 1.5 credits — it is a ready MP4 on Twitch's CDN and we only hand you the links. A VOD is 3 credits, the same as Rutube, because the file is assembled from HLS segments and streamed through us. The price is per resolve: every rendition's link is in that one response, and fetching one, several or none of them costs nothing more.
- How big is a VOD, and how accurate is size_mb?
- Large. A streamer's ten-hour archive is roughly 15 GB at 720p60, and even 360p runs about 3 GB. size_mb is measured from a sample of the actual segments, not read from Twitch's bandwidth hint (which is off by up to 40%); expect it within a few percent of the file you receive. The streaming link carries no Content-Length and no Range.
- What does a live channel link return?
- A 404 explaining that twitch.tv/<channel> is a live stream with nothing to download, billed at 0.1 credits. Send a clip (clips.twitch.tv/… or twitch.tv/<channel>/clip/…) or a VOD (twitch.tv/videos/<id>) instead — both are detected from the link, and old-style twitch.tv/<channel>/video/<id> and player.twitch.tv?video= forms are accepted too.
